How To Start Dieting

 

If it’s only your figure you are worried about, it’s not really a problem. Being overweight can take a heavy toll on your health, increasing the risk of heart disease, high-blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, infertility, gall-bladder disease, osteoarthritis, and many forms of cancer.

When your best friend tells you in passing that you are gaining some weight, it could mean you look fat. You should worry and decide it’s high time to do something. Your first logical step usually is to skip meals and cut down on carbohydrates consumption, frequenting the weighing scales more often than usual.
Gaining weight seems easier than losing it. It takes lots of patience and when things become difficult frustrations mount. You most likely at this point could go berserk and attack the fridge, emptying its contents and finishing it off with a diet cola. The next moment, you may find yourself crying and start hating the world and all its fatty evils while munching on some chocolate munchkins.

When all hope seems gone, you start to reflect and ask the question: How can the world be so rude? Some people are slim and beautiful, while others are fat, ugly, and will die sooner. In your reverie, you find out that something must have gone wrong with you. At this point, your brain bulb lights up. Everything is wrong with you and something needs to be done.

The next day, you wake up a new person with a new resolve. Then, the fever subsides and everything has gone back to what it always was.

If you want something so badly to happen in your life, the place to start is the self. For one, put a stop to fretting and blaming the world why you are fat. By the time you make peace with yourself, pledge to be responsible and act on it – half of the battle is won. The other half, well, is what this website is all about.
